Ooooh boy. Slacking on the Weekly Update again! Whoops! Okay well let me get something out before this week is up. So, as stated in last week’s update, this week I’ve been working on watching all of the Rambo movies leading up to Rambo: Last Blood. I’ve got two down, and two to go still. I’m going to watch Rambo III and Rambo (IV) later today. Man, the titles of these movies sure are an inconsistent mess! It looks like I won’t see Last Blood until Monday now since I’ve fallen behind.

My initial thoughts are that First Blood (the first Rambo movie) is truly great. They just don’t make movies (or actors, for that matter) like that anymore. I’ve seen most of it before, in bits and pieces, but never all at once. I enjoyed it a lot. The second film, Rambo: First Blood Part II, bumps up the action and explosives, but it can be really cheesy and over-the-top at times, so it’s unfortunately not nearly as good. From what I’ve seen on Letterboxd, most agree that Rambo III is the worst in the series, but I’m still looking forward to it regardless. Did you know that Sylvester Stallone says that Rambo III is actually when he was in the best shape of his life? That’s one thing I remember reading that he talks about in his book, Sly Moves, which I’d totally recommend for any Stallone fan! Maybe one day I’ll write a book review on it!

This week, I’ve posted reviews for Ready or Not, and The Peanut Butter Falcon. Two great movies that not nearly enough people have seen, so I encourage you to check them out if you can! Also, since my last update, I’ve been to the theater to see It: Chapter Two (2nd watch), The Goldfinch, and Ad Astra. If I didn’t mention it previously, I loved It: Chapter Two. Even slightly more than the last one! I thought The Goldfinch was much better than review scores would indicate, but it certainly requires a lot of patience (something I personally excel with). Lastly, there’s Ad Astra, which is another slow one, but I think it’s rather fascinating film overall. All in all, it’s been a good week at the movies!

In other news, I have a bit of an exciting announcement. I’ve been approved to have my reviews linked on IMDb, which is pretty cool. It’s also great because apart from Roger Ebert and a few select others that automatically go to the top, the reviews are listed alphabetically, which means I’ll always be near the top of the list. Excellent! I’ve only submitted my Ready or Not review so far, but I’ll add all my reviews eventually!

I’m still working on my reviews for It (2017) and It: Chapter Two. I’m also doing a special review on a website called Smashbomb as part of a partnership with them, so I intend to have all of those completed by next week. I’m also hoping to squeeze in a viewing of the 1990 mini-series of It and hope to get that reviewed too! That about wraps up this update. As always, thanks for reading!
