The Big Sick tells the unique, real-life love story of how Kumail Nanjiani met the love of his life, Emily. When Emily’s health unexpectedly takes a dangerous and mysterious turn, Kumail must confront his strict and traditional Pakistani family, as well as meet Emily’s family, to confess his true feelings of love.
Ever since conceptualizing 5 Minute Movie Guy, I’ve been adamant about keeping my review scores on a strict 5 star scale. However, lately I’ve found myself struggling with setting scores for my reviews that accurately represent how I really feel, and this is a problem that must be fixed once and for all!
It Comes at Night is a bleak psychological thriller that tells the story of a small family fighting against a faceless virus that has seemingly decimated most of the population. No one knows what’s happened, nor what’s causing the sickness, but they all agree they must never go out at night!
In this wildly entertaining thriller, a young man called Baby is the perennial pedal-pushing getaway driver for an Atlanta crime boss. However, unbeknownst to his boss, Baby plans to wipe his hands clean and hit the road for good, but first he has to find a way out and get away from his life of crime.
Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk takes us deep into one of the cornerstone moments of World War II in which Allied forces are cornered by Nazi Germany. Surrounded on the beaches of Dunkirk, France, the only way to salvation for nearly half a million soldiers is across the tumultuous English Channel.
